Megan Schuman has experience teaching a variety of subjects and working with students from age one through adulthood. She has a Master’s degree in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in both Creative Writing and French. Last summer we were fortunate to have Megan as a lead summer camp counselor here at GKRS. The kids were very fond of Megan and she proved to be a great fit with our team and culture.
Besides Golden Key, over the past ten years Megan has had diverse working experiences with kids in varied capacities - ranging from language acquisition to elementary education. Megan is fluent in French and has worked as a nanny in Paris to two young boys and also as a French tutor at the Mainline Classical Academy. As a teacher, Megan worked with toddlers at a Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood education center; with elementary students as a school assistant and reading tutor at the Mainline Classical Academy; and also with special needs students at Harriton High School to help them refine their executive functioning skills. During the pandemic, Megan has been a pre-kindergarten homeschool teacher for students in her town.
The ever-evolving dynamic of teaching and its demand for continuous growth inspires Megan, and her enthusiasm engages the students, helping them to cultivate their own love of learning and personal expression. We are happy to have Megan back on our team this year as an unexpected benefit of opening up our program to online learning.
